Kolam bioflok adalah sistem budidaya perikanan yang memanfaatkan teknologi bioflok untuk mengelola limbah dan meningkatkan efisiensi pemeliharaan ikan. Teknologi ini menggunakan bakteri baik untuk mengubah limbah organik seperti kotoran ikan dan sisa pakan menjadi gumpalan-gumpalan (Flok) yang bisa dimakan oleh ikan. Berikut adalah penjelasan lebih rinci tentang kolam bioflok:


 


1. Prinsip Kerja:
  • Sistem bioflok menggunakan mikroorganisme (bakteri heterotrofik) untuk menguraikan limbah organik di dalam air.
  • Bakteri ini mengubah amonia dan nitrit, yang beracun bagi ikan, menjadi nitrat yang lebih aman dan menjadi gumpalan bioflok yang bisa dimakan oleh ikan.

2. Keuntungan:
  • Efisiensi Pakan: Ikan bisa memakan bioflok, yang mengandung protein tinggi, sehingga kebutuhan pakan tambahan bisa dikurangi.
  • Kualitas Air: Dengan mengubah limbah menjadi bioflok, kualitas air lebih terjaga dan risiko pencemaran berkurang.
